Add Sets Before Adding Exercises
Once a muscle is already covered well, add hard sets to the exercises you have before adding new ones. Extra quality sets on existing movements are usually the better growth move, and they make progress easier to compare.
Progressive Overload
Progressive overload means gradually increasing the challenge your body must adapt to. Progress can come from more weight or reps, but only when effort, technique, range of motion, and exercise setup stay comparable.
What Training Volume Means
In lifting, training volume usually means the number of hard working sets completed for a movement or muscle group over a given period. It does not mean the total number of reps performed.
Why Exercise Variation Matters
Exercise variation helps when it has a clear purpose—keeping progress moving without changing movements so often that progress becomes hard to measure.
